Well that's it for Immigrant. Thanks so much for reading. I hope you got some kind of enjoyment out of it, for as grim and janky as it often was.

I don't know that I really have anything else to say here.

Congratulations! Well done and beautiful work. I hope you choose to create more comics. :) I really enjoy your art style and the way you set up your panels.

Thank you, though I'm probably all comic'd out for a long long time.

Sweet! A webcomic that actually has an end. Just started reading and I really like your art.

Hope you enjoy the complete read.

I clicked your comic from the front page and was about to say, this has too few subscribers for how cool the art is, but then The End showed up. :c

:< I feel sad. But it's a good, satisfying kind of sad. Sad because it's over, and sad because of the parting of ways, but satisfied because I think it ended wonderfully nonetheless.

It was a pretty damn awesome adventure, Ruxin. Ingat sa biyahe :)

Standing O
a bit stunned at the ending
Ruxin 18th Nov 2014, 1:24 AM edit delete reply
Stunned in what way, if I may ask? Also, thank you.

Well I didn't want to spoil it for others, but mainly that he lived.

Ahhhh! So sad it's over, but that was a really good run. I listened to the link you provided ('This is it.') while I read, ahahaha. I can't imagine how much work it must have been to do that final car chase scene - it looks fantastic, no doubt about it. Loved the laughing-to-roaring scene, too. But Bea's hair seems to indicate they spent some time recuperating together before their parting of ways, which is interesting. This definitely is an ending, I know, but I can't help but feel this also keeps it open to further stuff. You know, re: Taro's past.

Yamada Taro. XD

Thank you so hard for this whole story and for providing it online!! I really wish you success in all your future endeavours. Please take care! And please, please let us know if and when you choose to embark upon another project. You have my full support!

I originally was going to have a "3 months later" thing there but couldn't find a place to put it that didn't break the flow in a really bad way. There's no romance between them, if that's what you're implying. They do seem to have something fairly close to a friendship by the end, but it was a very deliberate move on my part to not explore anything further than that.

Also fun fact, Taro Yamada is the japanese equivalent of John Doe. The plan all along was to have his name be a real not-name, but doing the americanized version felt too on the nose.

edit: Speaking of names, Beatrix means "traveling companion", and Kenyon is the name of a famous archaeologist.

Three months! Wow, that is quite a while. I think it's fine you didn't put it in words, since Bea's hair and scars plus 'Taro''s fixed clothes does the talking. I wasn't quite implying that, though I admit, I'd totally ship it. XD That said, though, kinda hard to imagine anything happening with the Immigrant's lifestyle.

Name-wise, I did think Yamada Taro was something like that. XD; I actually thought it was a reference to the folklore hero, but I guess not!

Ahhh, Ruxin I am going to miss your updates!!
Ruxin 18th Nov 2014, 1:31 AM edit delete reply
I'm actually not aware of a folk tale involving someone of that name, might be work PMing me a link to though. I tried to look it up but it keeps pointing me to some high school manga.

And yeah, earlier today I was still considering adding a time stamp there but figured the character's themselves showed enough of a passage of time, albeit non-precise.

Well done Ruxin.

I'll be the optimist and expect you to return some time in the future, all fired up about a new story.
Ruxin 18th Nov 2014, 3:30 AM edit delete reply
I've had a few short story ideas, and an idea for an origin, but I'm coming up with ideas for stuff regularly. What's missing is the willpower. Maybe I'll get that figured out someday, who knows. For now I'm burnt out.

Thanks for reading it, though, and if something does come up in the future I'll be sure to let you know.

Excellent story man. It's always awesome to see someone end a comic they started.
I'm happy to have taken the ride and hope to see you workin' on something else in the future. You have too much talent to NOT start another project.

Thanks for this fine comic. I'm sad you got burned, though.

Stop crying into your bourbon you sad little man! Really good work and easily worth all the effort you put into it - had this been anywhere else I would've left regular comments.
Whatever else you decide to do, you have a completed comic project here you should be proud of and precious few can say that. It would be a shame not to build on the experience you've gained, but we'll always have Paris.

That was me by the way. Call me some time - I dunno, host a seance? Great comic.

Oh man -- congratulations! What a fantastic read. I've got to tell everyone they can read through the whole shebang in one go now, the lucky buggers.

Ok, somehow the link to the Immigrant credits I made went dead, so I had to reupload it here:

Not bothering to reactivate my Ruxin account for this because whatever.

The fact that this comic is over physically pains me. Damn good cherry pie, man.
Ruxin 24th Jan 2016, 2:29 PM edit delete reply
The fact that this is somehow netting ~400 hits per day long after it ended is crazy to me.
Babble_ON 2nd Feb 2016, 5:42 PM edit delete reply
Come back. Comics are mostly shit.

Nobody understands that the issue-like format that you did is infinitely more satisfying than getting tediously slow page-by-page progression. And that there's nothing interesting about a runaway story without any sense of where its going or when it'll end.

Please come back.

I don't want to get ahead of myself and promise anything, but I do have a notebook I've been jotting ideas down in. This week I wanted to draw a single page of a comic just to see if I could break myself back into it. But if I were to follow through with some big new thing, I wouldn't expect it for quite a while. With Immigrant, I had a decent amount done before I showed it off, explicitly so I could work off the updload schedule I did. I have nothing to show of anything new, at the moment.
Babble_ON 3rd Feb 2016, 2:54 AM edit delete reply
Hell, a timely reply was enough for me. Just shoot me a PM if and when you have anything new. I'll gobble that shit up.
